Prof. Ned Ekins-Daukes, University of New South Wales, Sydney
Ned is a Professor in the School of Photovoltaic & Renewable Energy Engineering at UNSW Sydney. Motivated by the high fundamental limit to solar energy power conversion (87%), Ned's scientific interests start with the thermodynamic basis for solar power conversion and continue through to making a practical demonstration. In 2007 he joined Imperial College London, was awarded a Royal Society Industry Fellowship in 2016, was Director of the Energy Futures Centre for Doctoral training and appointed Reader in Physics in 2016. Prior to that he was a lecturer in Physics at the University of Sydney and held a JSPS Research Fellowship at the Toyota Technological Institute in Japan. He holds a PhD and MSc from Imperial College London and a degree in Physics & Electronics from the University of St-Andrews, Scotland.
